Suzanne joined James Given Racing at the beginning of the 2004 season as her first job in racing, although she has been around horses and ridden since an early age. She brought with her five years experience of office management and now deals with all the racing administration. Suzanne rode out for four years until 2008 and is your first point of contact when telephoning or e-mailing the office.
Chris is the head lad/yard manager and he joined James Given Racing in February 2000. Chris was previously employed at Limestone Stud based in Willoughton. He naturally has considerable experience of handling young horses and is responsible for the breaking in of all of our yearlings.
Kevin is a head lad and he joined James Given Racing in April 2001 having previously worked for Owen Brennan and for Jim Leigh, who trained in Willoughton prior to our arrival in 1999. Kevin is our regular work rider and plays a prominent role in the breaking in of yearlings.
Andrew Lane BSc (Hons): Head Lad
Andy is a head lad and he joined James Given Racing in February 2000. Andy is our longest serving member of staff and was best associated with Hugs Dancer and also Indian Days on his foreign trips to Turkey, Italy, Hong Kong and Dubai.
Kelvin Osborne: Stable Staff
Kelvin joined the team in February 2014 having completed a residential course at the Northern Racing College. He’s been around horses since he was three years old as he was brought up in an equestrian family. He is now aiming to take out his amateur licence so we look forward to his racecourse debut.
Nick Robinson: Yard Staff
Nick joined the team at the beginning of September 2015, it’s his first job in racing but has quickly learnt how to approach the horses and has a quiet and calm manner.
Stuart Johnson: Yard Staff
Stuart joined us towards the end of 2015 having had some experience with horses although not in a racing yard.
Rachel Harrison: Yard Staff
Rachel joined the team in December 2016 on a temporary basis but decided to stay permanently in the January. Rachel has had her own horses for many years one of which was an ex racehorse. She now owns Oscar who she rides in her spare time and is introducing him to side saddle.
Lyndsey Brewer: Stable Staff
Lyns has come back to join us part time having previously worked here for nine years. She has two retired racehorses, Zain and Glenridding, both of which were in training at Mount House Stables who she rides and cares for in her spare time and is also now mum to Harry.
Callum Watt: Stable Lad
Callum joined us earlier this year having completed his training at the Northern Racing College having previously worked at a couple of local riding schools. He now rides out daily and the horse he was associated before her retirement to stud was La Fritillaire, the staying mare related to Dandino.
Dom is currently at secondary school and works one evening stables and Saturday mornings. He shares a horse with his sister which he looks after and rides in his spare time.
Steve worked as a head lad here for seven years before deciding to train as a farrier, it’s great that he is still part of the team at Mount House Stables
